 In order to better serve farmers, early in July 2001, SinoFert took the lead in setting up a toll-free consultation telephone line at: 800-810-9991. It provides free professional technological consultation for farmers. Thus ever since its opening, the hotline has been enthusiastically welcomed by the farmers across the country.

Since 2004, the professors and experts with the R&D Center of SinoFert at China Agricultural University have been answering the toll-free calls themselves. They answer the farmers¡¯ questions about fertilizing and farming, ensuring that farmers who call in could obtain satisfactory responses.

Introduction of the Team of Experts

The team which is responsible for the toll-free 800 number consists of all experts in agricultural chemistry, who have comprehensive knowledge of plant nutrition and fertilization. What follows is an introduction of Professor Wang Xingren with China Agricultural University, who serves as a senior consultant in the R&D Center of CAU-SinoFert.

Professor Wang was born in Donggou County, Liaoning Province in March 1940. He is currently a professor in the School of Resources and the Environment at China Agricultural University. He also serves as a visiting researcher at the Henan Academy of Agricultural Sciences, and is a member of the practical technology of national high-quality agricultural products committee at the China Academy of Agriculture. He graduated from the Department of Earth Chemistry at Beijing Agricultural University (Currently known as China Agricultural University) in 1965. Since graduation, he has been engaged in plant nutrition, fertilizer technology and related methodology, teaching and research.

As for teaching, Professor Wang has taught 5 courses titled "Advanced Experimental Design", °Research Methodology of Plant Nutrition", "Comprehensive Experimental Plant Nutrition", "Theory and Practice of Fertilizing Farmland" etc. He has supervised more than 10 graduate students, contributed to six textbooks used across China, "Fertilizer Experiments and Statistical Analysis" to name one, and he has served as the chief editor of three textbooks used at the University, for example, "Techniques of Soilless Cultivation".
