According to the Ministry of Agriculture, the average efficiency of nitrogen, phosphate and potash on the three major crops of rice, corn and wheat of the season are 33%, 24% and 42% respectively, within the internationally acknowledged appropriate range, but still at a quite low level. China’s fertilizer production and consumption rank No. 1 in the world. It is imperative to increase fertilizer efficiency and to transform the production pattern of agriculture.
