According to a survey by the National Bureau of Statistics of China, the planted acreage of early rice for 2013 throughout China was 5,791,900 hectares ( 86,878,000 mu), with an increase of 27,100 hectare (406,000 mu), or 0.5% over the same period of last year. The per unit yield of the country’s average was 5882.9kg/hectare (392.2kg/mu), an increase of 108.2kg/kectare (7.2kg/mu), or 1.9%. The total yield of the country was 34.073 million tons, with an increase of 783,000 tons or 2.4%.
