- In 2002, China withdrew the import quota for potash fertilizers after accession into the WTO. Grasping this golden opportunity, Sinochem signed exclusive import agency agreements with potash fertilizer suppliers all over the world, giving Sinochem a favorable position as a supplier of potash fertilizers in China.

- In addition, the corporation made a joint-investment with foreign enterprises to found two compound fertilizer manufacturing companies-Sinochem-Fujian Zhisheng Fertilizer Co., Ltd. and Sinochem-Hubei & Orient Fertilizer Co., Ltd.

- This year, the Sinochem's sales network further shifted from large cities to smaller agrarian cities and towns, with over 70 distribution centers and 13 branch offices across the country.
