With interests and puzzles on family farm, the author did an investigation in Laingxi County, Anhui Province where explorations on family farm were initiated in China. In Langxi County, there are large area of idle land since many farmers are working in the cities nearby. Therefore, the local government is attaching great significance to developing family farm, & to help the farmers get rich with “farming”, so as to solve the problems of who farms and how to farm.
During the investigation, the author found out that “reasonable development” of family farm is supposed to refer to the development level at which the family farm can achieve as much net per capita income as the disposable income of nearby urban residents.
