At this critical stage of spring growing, in order to significantly improve the public service capability of agricultural technology promotion, the central government will continue arranging 2.6 billion yuan of central budget to subsidize grassroots level promotion of agricultural technology. This is what our journalists have understood from the recent National Workshop of Managing Subsidy Projects of Agricultural Technology Promotion, which was held in Shijiazhuang, Hebei province. It is understood that the central budget support will cover all the agricultural counties of the country.
Officials from Science and Technology Education Department of Ministry of Agriculture said that this year there are 2 clear goals to achieve with the subsidy projects: system goal, i.e. through implementing the projects, efficient grassroots level agricultural technology promotion system and teams with clear functions, comprehensive structure, enriched expertise and strong guarantee will be established; & efficacy goal, i. e. through focusing on major industries and promoting major products and technologies, we will set up demonstration base of agricultural technology experiments & provide training to demonstration farmers and agronomists to promote the development of leading local agricultural industry.
It is understood that starting from this year, Ministry of Agriculture and Ministry and Finance will focus on building 100 demonstration counties of national agricultural technology promotion and the subsidy each county is entitled to will increase by 20-50% compared to the same period of last year.
