On the recently released “Top Runner List of Efficiency Benchmarking Enterprises of Key Energy Consumption Products in Petrochemical Industry of 2012”, two subsidiaries of Sinofert Holdings Limited, a Hong Kong listed subsidiary of Sinochem Corporation, were on the list. The two companies were Yunnan Three Circles Sinochem Fertilizer Company Limited (Three Circles Sinochem) and Guiyang Sinochem Kailin Fertilizer Company Limited (Sinochem Kailin). They were awarded the title of “2012 top runner efficiency benchmarking enterprise”. Three Circles Sinochem ranked No. 2 in the traditional DAP industry and Sinochem Kailin ranked No. 1 and 2 in traditional MAP industry and the industry of MAP by slurry respectively. 　　  The release of efficiency benchmarking system originated from Japan. It is an effective measure to promote enterprises to save energy, i.e. the enterprise that achieves the lowest energy consumption level in producing a certain product is determined as the benchmark and the other enterprises are guided by this benchmarking enterprise to achieve the low level of energy consumption of this enterprise. In this case, the efficiency level of the whole industry will be improved. The evaluation system of this year’s top runner in China’s petrochemical industry includes the products of ammonia, methanol, DAP, sulphuric acid, calcium carbide, caustic soda, & MAP, etc.
